I think your right..
A Guild City is great and the knowledge of how to build, maintain and protect one will be very usefull.
But my thoughts would be along the lines of ...recruit and train..recruit and train..learn game mechanics..recruit..and perhaps some training.
To that end a fun Rp storyline that brings out the best orcs have to offer would be good..
..Perhaps an Orc raiding party as a basis..mongolian in style..
An orc fort (Guild City) somewhere as a base..but generally moving from one region to another in permanent nomadic route..
A different region each week for the 4 weeks in a month..then repeat.
This would serve 2 purposes..
1: concentrating out numbers in one area makes us look more numerous (safety in numbers) and moving should give us a bigger profile..making recruiting and Rping easier
2: members would know which area to head for to meet up with other orcs (for raiding/crafting resource gathering) without restricting us to the fort or local area
As a small raiding party passing through..we can set ambushes..quest..and even form short lived alliances in the pursuit of good loot and courageous battles
