Orc Fort Map!
Can I convince you guys to play CS if I made a map where Terrorist (orcs) guard hostages in the pig pen from the Counter-Terrorist (oomies)?
The Map would have to be fairly even for both sides. In UO theres obvious advantages such as there only being two entrances, there would be Back, Front, and Mid.
Post ideas here it will take me awhile to get a map together cause I've never made one before :o

does a person have to cheat (hack, etc) to really have fun and do well in CS?
I've only played about 5 minutes of CS and it seems like cheaters prosper. I could be wrong. I'm also really good at first person shooters.

New players don't tend to do well on CS, theres alot of things to learn about the game. Maybe if you researched some basics about the game you could do better. Just curious what FPS's have you played? CS is a very fast paced game, you just overall have to be a really good gamer. I personally never see hackers on CS, but there are a few and there are certain distinct ways you can tell. I.e their crosshairs shake rapidly around the screen, etc.

Obviously, being so quick to defend CS = h4x0r!
All I'm saying is, I played like three times and got enough of every weapon being an insta kill cause of aimbots. The storyline campaigns that come with them are fun though.

It's not saying much, but Quake 2, Unreal Tournament, Unreal 2004, Star Wars Battlefront 2. I want to play Halo 1/2/3 some day.

How can you tell that their crosshairs are shaking while you're being killed by them?

Most people DO cheat at counter strike, which is why I hardly ever play it anymore.
Many people don't even see using an aimbot as cheating, and Valve's anti-cheat sucks and is very easily overcome.
I guess this is the weakness of every online shooter, though. :(

I think saying "most" people is a severe overstatement.
Having said that, there are some people out there who do cheat, and it ruins it for those of us who are okay enough at the game to put up a fight, but not a 64 hour a week FPS player.

It goes by a server-by-server basis. Good servers have serverside anticheat running, as well as depend on Valve's VAC. Most servers don't, though.
Most may have been an overstatement, but I'd go out there and say that at least one third of the people who play the game online use some sort of cheat (whether it be a see-through-wall hack or a aimbot or something more severe), and on a server of 30 people thats 10 people, which totally ruins most games.
