Lightbulb New Branch, New Start!

Seeing how we cannot bring UO RP Lore to Darkfall. We're going to have to change a few things. That includes some of our ranks and storyline. We're still going to have the core of BC worship Bloodgod while being a brute meele force. However we need to add some Darkfall RP lore into our branch.

Please feel free to make suggestions.

I think we should keep current rank structure.

Elder
|
Warboss during war (Possibly renamed/seperate vote)
|
"Tribal" See'r (Tribe picks surname/ Plain See'r for tribeless)
|
"Tribal" Ward'r (Tribe picks surname/ Plain Ward'r for tribeless)
|
Grunt/Mojoka/Warboss during peace
|
Gruntee/Mojokii
|
Pug

My only complaint about Bloodclan's current rank structure is that ward'r see'r and elder ranks prove useless durring raids. If it's for rp, sounds good. But as an effective communication structure on raids, above grunt with exception of warboss just complicates the command structure. Also I don't think we should specialize rank trees along the lines that Yew did where they categorize people by fighting template because often times not enough people will be on from a specialized rank and also more communication needs to be exchanged as a result of having more sub leaders.

I'm okay with that rank structure, long as we can some how encourage tribes to incorporate some of the DF lore into their storylines for this branch. We need to add a mounted rank in there that can't use bow or magic.

I somewhat agree with Pulled Pork there. If we want to succeed in DF then we should not complicate things by adding more ranks and chains of command. For the mounted orcs I think they should just be like how we had the guerilla class. They will still have equal authority compared to everyone else, but be specialized in a certain area of fighting. Mounted combatants will mostly be seperated from the rest of the clan while fighting, so they will need a heirarchy of their own during those times.

Of course they will still be liable to follow general directions from the leader of the raid/battle at that time. But smaller commands should come from the leader of their subgroup because they have a better view of what is happening at that time.

I figured, since the Red Dragon is a mortal, killable god, that we could encorporate that the Bloodgod created the Red Dragon...from a lore standpoint.

Ranks should be kept simple.

I think mounts should be a Grunt priveledge only. The rank structure is tried and true, I see no reason to change that.

I like where your going with this. How about the Red Dragon is the avatar of the bloodgod and is worshiped as such. Any opposers the the bloodgod are given to the avatar as a sacrifice. I'm sure if we take some time we could come up with a good lore story explaining this.

Or the Red Dragon is the Bloodgod's mortal slave, doing his bidding and commanding his followers.

Once choice is concrete -- Evil orks? Or good orks?

Evil orks kill their own kind. Good orks can kill bad orks and humans and dwarves and elves and alfar(Maybe mahirim too). I would think it would be more fun to play WITH other orcs than against them, see recent in game events for examples and counter-examples.

Evil ork quote - "In the olden days, it was every ork to himself and the will of the strongest always previle… prelaive… decided. To bring back those happy days, when death was everywhere, we must slay the dragon and chop off the Big Head!"
- Angrar Stabface, Guild of Thugs member.

I have always believed that the orks acted as 1 unified race moreso than the other races. There are many negatives associated with being evil, especially concerning 1) building an empire{This is a big part of the game} or 2) having a city or 3) harvesting resources.

I don't see any reason why not to have the Red Dragon <=> Bloodgod. I think the dragon part is more of an avatar deal. Also keep in mind we live in(for the most part) the swamps of Morak.

"The orks worship the Fire Dragon, a chaos deity of awesome power, who quite recently unified the warring orkish tribes under her rule. Currently resting inside the Great Stairs in Flaming Skull, ... When the Fire Dragon is fully recuperated, she will emerge to take control over a united orkish army, and together they will unleash the Big Burning upon the world. In the meantime, the orks - who can hardly wait - do their best to prepare the ground for this rampage to end all rampages.

Since the Fire Dragon requires a steady stream of sentient sacrifice, orkish armies regularly raid for fresh victims. All resulting captives are hauled back to Flaming Skull, where they are dragged up the Great Stairs and thrown into a fiery pit which leads to the Fire Dragon's lair in the structure's interior.

The traditional leader of the orkish nation is the Big Head of Flaming Skull, a sort of high king whose power over the tribes has waxed and waned through history. The current Big Head is Uzrok Deathfist, a traditionalist who resents the power of the priesthood, and who suspects that Arxanthos is faking the dream-messages from the Fire Dragon, which frequently involve bringing treasure and food to Arxanthos's lair in Emberhall. "

^ You can overthrow this guy in single(I think...) combat to become King Ork ^
