Darkfall Urk Blah

Since there will be different races and items, etc, I think it would be great if we brainstormed right now what we will call these things in Darkfall. I've been learning a lot of Black Speech lately and I wanted to summarize what I've learned. I'll try to keep it as simple as possible for those orcs that don't like to learn new words. However, a nuuburn has over 50 unique words they have to remember, so I expect that adding a bit more Orcish to our vocabulary couldn't be all too painful. Keep in mind, these ideas are only beta :)

For the races, I'll italicize the words that are not real Black Speech. I put the words I had to extrapolate in quotes, and the words with parantheses are the real translations. I tried to have some "Oomie sounding" alternatives, but I prefer that we choose black speech names for things. I underlined the words I like the most (usually because they were the shortest and easiest).

Human = Oomie, Shara

Bloodclan Ork = Ork, Urk

Mirdain (Elf) = Elb, Elv, Mirdum, Golog, Karanzol, Paken, Zan, Albh

Dwarf = Liddulguy, Shakutarbik, Vok, Gazat

Mahirim = Mahirim, Wolfie, Naur (werewolf), Burujak "Man Wolf", Scarashar "Wolf Man"

Alfar = Alfar, Darkelb, Burzan "Darkelf", Zanorrat "Elfdark"


I can't decide on the Mahirim. Comments appreciated.

Buub is fine for pig, and Olog does mean troll, but Alfar are not trolls. They are like dark elves or drow. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Let's go with Burujak for the Mahirim. That would be better than Mutz or Pupz (which sound too oomie, plus you don't want to confuse them with Howlurz).

Mirdain could be Elv (singular) and Elvuz (plural).

Or Myrdane.

Even though I gave some stuff as suggestions, I think Elv looks way too oomieish. And "liddulguy" was purely a joke to show that oomie words just don't sound cool. Let's do Zan/Zanz. Or let's not, but at least tell me why.

Alfar are basically dark elves, so they would be Burzan/Burzanz (Burz means dark). Discuss.
