What do you like the most and the least about UO?
title
The best thing on UO imo is rp. The freedom for it is insane, albeit the problem of being unable to lay down... a peeve I guess.
The thing I hate most on UO is pvp. Give me trammel any day... the amount of macroes and hotkeys and timing and lag just makes my head hurt and my CPU burst into flame. I guess that makes it weird that I joined orcs, but oh well.
What about you guys?

Everything, including the PvP.
What I hate, is ALSO the PvP. Though sometimes it's fun, I'm just not good enough to be one of those "pvp gods" and never see myself being there. Still though, it can be fun.

If you seriously enjoy RP more than PVP, you'll absolutely love the Grimmwold branch.
Anyway, I like UO because for some reason it's the only game I can RP in. The combination of the isometric view and the way the physical game world is both rigid and changeable at the same time makes it simple to know what everyone is saying and to physically show what your character is doing.
The only complaints I have about UO are design choices about the way they made the engine way back that limit the game code- mainly the way ships are handled and people are moved around when they are not physically walking (being the only case in which players are not abruptly redrawn but tweened between tiles).
Oh, I also hate that EA bought it out.

I was going to try out Grimmworld, but it seemed like too much hassle and I had no idea how to get the custom files etc...
What's the avg population on there?

I like skills. Level based games just ruin everything, that's why Darkfall may be the only thing to outdo UO.
What I hate is sometimes the PvP. Not always but yeah sometimes it gets old trying to fight off 20+ ganking, res killing bitches...
... oh we kinda do that... poop...

My favorite part about UO is the skill system and PvPing with a group of friends.
