Luk Family Revelation: Rise of the Matriarch
The orcish family of the Luks were an ancient clan of Sosarian orcs that lived in harmony together in a small, dense village in the forests of Britain, founded by Gut'Luk. Spiritually gifted by the Bloodgod, their powerful mages were matched only by their stealthy archers and rogues. Though a small village, they were feared as they pillaged Britannia.
It was long ago that they were overtaken by Lord British's armies, and with their village destroyed and army slaughtered, the remnant struggled to survive as their fearsome memory slowly died out. Few remember them today as anything more than a broken clan. The Matriarch, Gut'Luk, was sealed away in a Britannian crypt in the northern graveyard, trapped forever in a mage's binding construct.
The clan was no more, and their puny shaman-queen was trapped forever, conscious but bound, with only centuries of darkness and silence to keep her company.
Or so they believed...
Luk'Luk entered a crypt. Looking around, it was dark, so he threw a torch on the floor. Entering at the night was his usual way; no humans around to disturb his plans. Taking out his massive womp, he started slamming each tile in the room, the sound echoing throughout the resting graveyard. Several hours later, he was no farther in his plan. Coming to the last corner, he faithlessly hit the tile, but to his surprise, a hollow sound echoed. Hitting it again, a crack was heard. Knowing his effort was truly not in vain, he hit it one last time with all his strength, it exploding in a dusty storm of old, broken stone.
In a square hole, he saw a very large, bluish crystal, very lightweight, with a handle at the top. Pulling with all his force, it came easier than he thought and hit the roof; falling to the side, he saw a maginificent sight; the Matriarch of his clan, the forgotten Queen of the Luk Clan, Gut'Luk. As he looked at her frozen animation, he ducked down, having a peek at her beautiful eyes. For his great, great, great grandmother, she looked even younger than him! Peering into her stone gaze, the eyes suddenly turned towards him, startling his very soul. She had been awake for hundreds of years.
Pushing her closer against the wall, his hammer lifted in the air. In a swift move, it fell upon the crystal, shattering it instantly. With a blinding flash of light, his vision restored slowly, focusing upon the silhouette of his revived ancestor, the captive released, the queen of the clan. Bowing before her in reverence, she demanded the dark robe he had brought for her. As she walked about, getting used to automation once again, he told her of the legend of the clan's demise, and how he was one of the few left, and that the others were either lost or following the Giitz'Krieg in the Bloodclan.
She responded with her plan, to restore the Luk Clan was of secondary importance; the Bloodgod, or Giitz'Krieg as it was called, was nearly forgotten, a sin most intolerable. She would enter this 'Bluud-klan' as a mage, and even rise through the ranks, for the sole purpose of teaching the ignorant members of their true god. With this, she walked out into a magic gate. As Luk'Luk followed, he could feel the stronge presence of the Giitz'Krieg follow her. What excitement and glory waited for the clan with the return of such a great follower of the mighty orcish god, he could not foresee.
