Have you guys taken another look at Warhammer online lately? I've been doing alot of forums surfing and so far...

It seems like it may either be really fun or a glorified version of WoW's battlegrounds. Here's to hoping for the former and not the latter. I'm seriously considering trying it out.

Has anyone gotten into Beta and seen what the basic idea of the game is really like?

I'm still watching. I've applied for the beta but have not received any response. I also did a guild application but also have not heard back about it.

Yeah, with the guild application thing... I read that shadowclan also applied and so far they haven't gotten their app approved either.

That's even with a EA Mythic PR rep saying that SC was one of the most fun guilds to play with. *sigh*

Too bad bloodclan can't get that kind of PR.

But I am so curious about WAR. I can't decide on what to play though. Either Blorc or Goblin shaman. They both seem really sweet.

Yeah, like you I'm hoping this is not a glorified WoW. Don't get me wrong, WoW was fun, but I lost interest because it became repetitive.

I dunno, from what I've read about the game it could go eithe way. The fact that EA has their fingers in it kind of dooms it to mediocricity.

The Realm vs Realm has me a bit worried, personally.

Orcs ONLY fight Dwarves, Imperials ONLY fight Chaos, and Dark Elves ONLY fight High Elves.

No, I read that you can go to other realms to assist your allies. I'm going to atleast give it a shot before I knock it. If it sucks, I'll just come running back to the sanity of UO. *shrug*

Oh, of course. Nothing replaces UO.

My feeling is that we'll invade this game when it comes out, have 30-40 of us playing at once for a month, and then 2/3 of us will get burned out and return to UO. After that we'll go back en mass for a couple of pre-planned raids and events, but the numbers will get smaller and smaller.

Three months after our initial invasion, only a handful of orcs will play more than a couple hours a week, and we will never be a force in the game again.

Don't get me wrong though, that first month is gonna be fun as hell and worth paying the 50$ for the game :)

hey fellas, been gone a while....but anyway, i read where you start out having a racial based battle ground, but yeah...you can go to other battlegrounds and fight with your allies and help. i figure it will eventually have a non official "popular" BG that everyone ends up fighting at. but who knows....im game.
